From Village to Village aims at building capacities of youth from southern villages in order to enable them to be leaders and social activists in their community.
The overall objective is to promote and support participation, involvement, leadership and peace resolution of conflict among youth to address unemployment and violence through designing a small community project.
Blue Mission trainers provide them leadership and project management training as well as psychosocial support in order to enable them to be more active and to fully participate in decision making process in their community.
Three youth clubs have been created in Bazouriyeh, Toura and Maarake involving youth from several villages to design and implement a small community project. Designing a project leads youth to analyze the problems and needs of their community as well as they learn democratic practices and dialogue.
Combine psychosocial support and leadership training is essential because there is a lack of opportunity for youth especially in rural areas. This lack of opportunity can lead to lack of self esteem and belonging feeling as well as high frustration. In post conflict society, it can also lead to violence especially when sectarian division are rigid among younger. This lack of opportunity lies in the deficiency of leadership and project management skills as well as a lack of understanding of their needs and feelings. Because of this lack of acknowledgement and confidence usually provided by participation in the social fabric they are not protected enough to find fulfillment in their social life. Protection should be considered as empowerment by providing them necessary skills and tools to be able to fix their problems.
